We offer more than one option for our Interior design clients. How we work with our clients is simple and straightforward, but it’s also different from one client to the next and completely dependent on what your needs are.

We offer Full Design Plan Services that may include Room Rendering Services, or we Also have an optional Hourly Service with Either a Junior or Senior Level Designer. Please read the Descriptions Below and let us know what best suits you:

DESIGN PLAN

Typically, we start out with a telephone conversation with your whereby we can discuss your overall needs and requirements. We also want to discuss what your budget restraints are and where you want to spend your monies on the spaces you need designed or decorated. Many of our client will contact us for a whole house evaluation and design, while others will want us to design just one small powder room. We are VERY HAPPY to work on any small project! We do not want anyone to think that their small project is something that we wouldn’t be interested in, because we would love to work on any project of any size and most any budget, and we are able to cater to most of your needs in this regard. Do not hesitate to call or email us for any reason.

We then set up an in-person meeting at the project location whereby we can further evaluate your project and have an opportunity to meet with you and discuss your needs. At this time, we would are pleased to have an opportunity to show you our portfolio and show you projects that we have completed in the past that may be similar in nature to yours. Although this is not a time for us to give you design ideas, we will take photos and make preparations for a second meeting after you have had a chance to digest the information we have left you with and further consider if  Shawn Penoyer Interiors is the correct firm for you. This is a good time for you to review our Portfolio and decide if we are a good match and if the “look” that we provide is the look that you want in your home. You may also want to read the page on our website entitled “How to Choose an Interior Designer” located on this website.

We charge a Per-Room Fee of  $5,000.00  which covers the expenses of design labor for our firm for your project, software and rendering fees to create our renderings, the time to measure your room in Detail in preparation for Rendering, research, etc.   Assuming you have decided to select our firm to complete your design, and you have interviewed other potential candidates, we are sure you have made the best decision and we hope that you have chosen us! Going forward, we would then set up another time and date where we can come to your location and measure the space in very precise detail, including the layout of all of the windows, doors, ceiling heights, entryways and exits, etc. We will input this information into our software program that this will be the starting point for us to re-create your space(s) in our Computer Aided Design (CAD) software programs. This is how we create stunning visuals that we are able to email to you, so you can see a photo-quality rendering of our design that we have created. this is a “future look” for your space complete with all of the wall finishes, lighting, flooring, accessories, or whatever your design calls for. This allows you to be very clear in what to expect without having to visualize it on you own. You can have a look at some examples of our Renderings on our portfolio page marked “Renderings”.

We will then prepare an invoice to get started and submit this to you via email. This invoice is a line item invoice that explains the details of the Interior Design Plan that we will provide for you. The Interior Design Plan must be paid in full prior to getting started with any work on your home. This invoice covers all costs incurred to complete the design plan and may include the costs for renderings for each room as discussed in our initial meeting. Depending on what we have agreed upon beforehand, we typically charge a per-room fee that then is credited back as a deposit toward your purchases of products, furniture and services that we provide to you. This process is a benefit to our clients and provides a simple way for you as the client to enjoy a big savings on the design plan so long as the minimum requirements are met, and often, the overall design plan comes  free of charge, however some stipulations apply and we will happily explain this in or on site meeting with you.

Because of the large number of wholesale accounts that Shawn Penoyer Interiors has in our arsenal, we are able to provide all of our furniture, case goods, lighting and accessories to our clients at a cost that is below standard retail. We will guarantee that any of these items that we provide to you will be substantially below any cost that you could find, and we promise that if you are able to find it cheaper anywhere, we will beat that price! We challenge you to shop around yourself and you will see that our promise holds true.

Once the final design plan is approved and the invoice is submitted to you for review, we then require a 50% deposit to order and we deal directly with the manufacturers to produce your items, including fabric selection, specialty sizes, etc. We will keep you posted on an expected ETA and keep you abreast of any potential delays and/or Estimated times for delivery on all of the items on your invoice to complete the space. While products are awaiting delivery, we will be working diligently on other projects such as wallpaper or wall finishes, painting, installations, carpet, wall hangings and artwork, etc.

At the 3/4 mark, we should be complete with major installations, wall papers, paint, etc and we will require a progress payment of an additional 25% (or 75% of the invoice).

One week prior to delivery and completion we require the final 25 % of your invoice to be paid in full. Any adjustments to your Invoice should be made at this time including any credits or additions that may have been made along the way.

At the end of the project we will go through the space and accessorize with items that we feel may compliment the space. These items may not have appeared on an invoice at this point, however you are welcome to review any of these items and decide if you would like to keep them or not and we will happily provide a line item invoice for you as well.

Voila! your space is complete and ready to show of to your friends. We are sure that you will have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and we look forward to hearing any positive feedback from your friends and family. Our goal is to provide an award-winning design, and your space will become part of the Shawn Penoyer Interiors portfolio, and we want to be as proud of the end result as you are.
